Directors

Giles Sirett
CEO

Giles remains at the forefront of technology advancements, IT Best Practice and IT Service Delivery. He also regularly provides Strategic IT Planning consultancy to many organisations in areas such as IT Business Continuity Planning, New System Specification and Procurement Support. Prior to Octavia, Giles worked for systems integrator, Computacenter then moved to Datatech, heading up a consultancy & implementation team and then moving on to a senior management position. Giles has also served on the board of an AIM-listed Technology investment fund.

Nick Berry
Chief Operations Officer

Nick joined Octavia in early 2000, prior to which he had worked in recruitment sales and management for Hendersons Recruitment (1997 to 2000). Before entering into a sales focused career, Nick worked for Commercial Union within the fund management division. Nick joined Octavia in a business development capacity. Nick remains heavily involved with Octavia's customers and has forged long term peer level relationships with many. As Octavia has grown so too have the demands of business administration and operations. As Octavia's Chief Operations Officer, Nick now focuses ensuring that day to day service delivery meets the required standards as well as directing all aspects of finance, HR, recruitment, training, company secretarial requirements and quality assurance

Geoff Higginbottom
Technical Director

Geoff joined Octavia in April 2003 as their first Network Consultant. Over the years he has gradually built up a team of engineers to provide support and implementation services to Octavia’s growing client base. Geoff was then promoted to Service Desk Manager in 2004 before being voted onto the board as a Technical Director in April 2005. Geoff’s background is actually the Royal Navy, where in 1991 he became an engineer specialising in Electronics and Computer based systems. After serving for 9 years, Geoff left the Royal Navy to join the company Logica as a consultant in the Government Centre. This involved developing secure, high availability WAN solutions for NATO systems. Geoff and his teams key focus is to ensure all of Octavia’s internal systems are always available and working for the business.

Jerome Mohamed
Sales & Marketing Director

Jerome began his career within the telephony industry before moving into the financial sector and qualifying as a financial consultant in the late 1990's. Then in 1999, Jerome qualified as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, and from that point, he firmly positioned himself and his career within the IT industry. He worked as a Systems Administrator for an IT training company and then in 2003 took over the management of Computer Technology Training. Jerome began working for Octavia Information Systems as a Sales Manager, then after a brief move to Alentus UK Limited as Head of UK Sales and Operations, he returned to Octavia as Sales and Marketing Director.

Marlene
Mac Engineer

Hi, my name is Marlene. I am a Mac Engineer and work in second line support on Octavia's Service Desk. I've been with Octavia for over 3 years and worked in IT for over 6 years. I specialise in Apple technologies and spend time on site or remotely dealing with customer support requests. My main objective is to ensure that your IT problems are resolved as quickly as possible. I take particular pride in customer services and I am a great believer in making sure you are kept up to date at all times

Senior Technical Consultant

I've been in IT for over 10 years and with Octavia for 4. I am responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of Octavia's Data Centre Systems which are critical to our customers infrastructures and are required to be fully operational 24/7 365 days a year - without fail!

Service Desk Engineer

Hi, I'm Ian. I work on the Service Desk in a second line support role. I've been with Octavia for over a year now. I am responsible for Octavia's internal IT Systems, this means that I am responsible for ensuring that our staff receive the same high standards of service that we give our customers. I get a lot of satisfaction when resolving issues, and it's a great feeling when a customer recognises the hard work we put in.
