UGC Cinemas - head office MIS
UGC cinemas (formerly Virgin Cinemas) asked Octavia to partner them in development of their core MIS system.
The system's primary function is to consolidate data from cinema point of sale systems, perform validation checking and push data into accounting and other systems.
Key features include:
- Input processor/data transformation engine
- Interface to online payment mechanism
- Multiple user interfaces
- Custom user reporting
Technologies utilized were C++, MS SQL server and Visual Basic. Octavia worked closely with the UGC development team to ensure the project met requirements and was delivered ahead of schedule.
Upon completion of the core functionality an ongoing support arrangement commenced. This involved permanent on site resource along with additional support when needed.
Octavia's flexible approach allows changes and additional development to the system to be performed quickly and easily. UGC also have the ability to call off other specific consultancy skills such as high level systems architecture to complement its in house team on an as required basis.
