As specified in Octavia’s Quality Assurance Manual we have a commitment to pursue the company’s commercial objectives whilst actively seeking to protect the environment. Day to day waste produced by employees will be actively reduced and recycling of suitable items is obligatory.

When acting on behalf of customers, waste will be minimised and solutions for customers will always aim to promote efficiency in the use / re-use of materials and technology.

Octavia is an affiliate member of Climate Savers Computing. The Climate Savers Computing Initiative is a nonprofit group of eco-conscious consumers, businesses and conservation organizations. The Initiative was started in the spirit of WWF’s Climate Savers program which has mobilized over a dozen companies since 1999 to cut carbon dioxide emissions, demonstrating that reducing emissions is good business. Our goal is to promote development, deployment and adoption of smart technologies that can both improve the efficiency of a computer’s power delivery and reduce the energy consumed when the computer is in an inactive state.

As participants in the Climate Savers Computing Initiative, computer and component manufacturers commit to producing products that meet specified power-efficiency targets, and corporate participants commit to purchasing power-efficient computing products.

Climate Savers Computing - Mission: Possible

By 2010, we seek to reduce global CO2 emissions from the operation of computers by 54 million tons per year, equivalent to the annual output of 11 million cars or 10–20 coal-fired power plants. With your help, this effort will lead to a 50% reduction in power consumption by computers by 2010 that could collectively save $5.5 billion in energy costs.

We are also a Microsoft Small Business Specialist - demonstrating our commitment to understanding the requirements and delivering technology solutions designed specifically for the UK small business sector. Fewer than 100 companies across the entire UK have achieved both Microsoft Gold Partner and Microsoft Small Business Specialist accreditations.*

As a Microsoft Gold Partner, we share and promote proven frameworks and templates to deploy Microsoft-based solutions. Wherever possible, we reuse prescriptive techniques and architectures from Microsoft.

Octavia is a Cisco registered partner. Cisco products are our first choice for switches, firewalls and VPN solutions.

Octavia partner with Sophos in order to offer our customers Anti Virus solutions, Sophos products provide comprehensive protection against viruses, spam and spyware and are used by 24 million users worldwide. We work closely with Sophos to ensure that your infrastructure is given the very best protection.

Octavia is a VMware Enterprise Partner. We consider VMware’s virtualisation products to be Best Of Breed and regularly use them to exploit the advantages of virtualisation for our customers.
